we gathered together for a special Sangha evening to launch BAM in Hertford.
Our chosen theme was food and we introduced our intention to support the local food bank with food donations throughout the whole of June and food or money donations at a dana metta bhavana on 20th June. You can find out more about it all here.
After practicing the metta bhavana we shared vegan and vegetarian food and fair-trade tea.
Then we watched a short video narrated by George Monbiot called 'How Wolves Change Rivers' which empowered us to see how one small change can have an incredible impact on the beautiful world we inhabit.
We talked about palm oil, vegetarianism, plastics and more, then wrote our BAM pledges on the tree of inspiration on the shrine and ended with acoustic guitar and song.
The big news of the night was that we had just received confirmation of our new sangha allotment, perfect for our food theme for BAM 2017! More exciting allotment updates to follow, watch this space!
